At Bob's Brittle (ABN 65 191 892 427), we aim to get your brittle to you as quickly and safely as possible. This policy explains our shipping processes, timeframes, costs, and responsibilities. Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

 

1. Order Processing

Orders are typically processed within 1–3 business days (Monday–Friday, excluding NSW public holidays) after payment clearance and order verification.

        Custom or large orders may require additional processing time — we will notify you if this applies

        Processing time does not include transit/delivery time

        You will receive an order confirmation email once your order is placed, and a dispatch notification with tracking details when your order leaves us

 

2. Delivery Timeframes

Delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Actual delivery times depend on your carrier, location, and external factors including weather, public holidays, and peak periods such as Christmas and Easter.

Free shipping note: Free shipping applies to all orders totalling $99 or more (after discounts, before shipping), delivered anywhere within Australia including remote and rural areas. Free shipping is applied to standard delivery only — express shipping is not included in the free shipping offer.

PO Boxes & Parcel Lockers: We can deliver to PO Boxes and Parcel Lockers via Australia Post. Please ensure your address is correct at checkout — we cannot be responsible for non-delivery due to an incorrect or undeliverable address.

 

4. Risk & Title

Title (ownership) and risk of loss or damage pass to you when your order is handed to the carrier. However, this does not affect your rights under the ACL — if your order arrives faulty, damaged, or significantly different from its description, you are entitled to a remedy regardless of when risk passed.

5. Special Handling — Brittle & Confectionery

Brittle is a handmade, perishable confectionery product that is sensitive to heat and humidity. Please note:

        We pack all orders with care to minimise the risk of breakage or quality degradation in transit

        We are not liable for melting, softening, or texture changes caused by extreme temperatures during transit, particularly in summer months (November–March) or in hot regions such as inland QLD, NT, and WA

        We strongly recommend choosing Express shipping during warmer months to minimise time in transit

        Store brittle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight immediately upon receipt

        Shelf life is typically 5 months from dispatch date if stored correctly — check your packaging for the best-before date

        All products comply with Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) requirements — check ingredient and allergen information on individual product pages before ordering

6. Delivery Issues

Failed Deliveries & Authority to Leave (ATL)

If you are not home at the time of delivery:

        Australia Post may leave your parcel in a safe location if ATL is enabled, or leave a card for collection at your nearest post office

        Check your tracking for the latest delivery status and collection instructions

        Re-delivery fees charged by the carrier are your responsibility unless the failed delivery was caused by our error

 

Incorrect or Incomplete Address

Please double-check your delivery address before completing your order. If you provide an incorrect or incomplete address:

        We will attempt to contact you to correct it before dispatch if possible

        If the parcel has already been dispatched and is returned to us, we will contact you — re-delivery costs may apply

        We are not liable for non-delivery caused by an incorrect address provided by you

 

Damaged Goods on Arrival

If your order arrives damaged:

        Photograph the damaged packaging and product immediately upon receipt

        Contact us within 7 days of delivery at admin@bobsbrittle.com.au with your order number and photos

        We will assess your claim and provide an appropriate remedy under the ACL (replacement, refund, or resupply)

        We reimburse reasonable return shipping costs for confirmed faults or damage caused before dispatch

 

Non-Delivery

If your order has not arrived within the estimated delivery window:

        Check your tracking details in your dispatch email or account

        Contact us within 30 days of the estimated delivery date if your order has not arrived

        We will investigate with the carrier and work to resolve the issue as quickly as possible

 

Force Majeure

Delays or non-delivery caused by events beyond our reasonable control (including natural disasters, extreme weather, industrial action, pandemics, or carrier disruptions) do not entitle you to compensation beyond your rights for faulty or undelivered goods under the ACL.

 

7. International Shipping

We currently ship within Australia only. If you are located outside Australia and would like to place an order, contact us at admin@bobsbrittle.com.au — we may be able to accommodate special requests. International shipping costs, customs duties, and import taxes would be the responsibility of the recipient.
